Peter Morgan's Tony Award-nominated play that spawned the critically acclaimed 2006 film pits jet-setting British TV talk-show host David Frost against disgraced former president Richard Nixon in a battle of wits and wills. Desperate to regain his slipped standing as a serious journalist, Frost seeks to elicit from the Watergate-plagued Nixon a detailed explanation and apology, while the ever-political former president has his own agenda. This fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the famous 1977 series of interviews dissects the electrifying battle between Nixon and Frost, revealing both mens insecurities, ego and sense of dignity as they face off in a historic encounter that ultimately changes them both. This was a laugh-out-loud, gut-busting-funny, wonderfully entertaining adaptation of a Shakespeare favorite. It was well cast, well executed, and well worth the money. I hope to see it again during the run!Written on Jul 30 2007

Shakespeare at the Maverick Theater is what local theater is all about. The venue is small that only holds 50 and very seat is great. The sound and set were enjoyable. The actors joyful. If you like Shakespeare then you'll love the Maverick.Written on Jul 23 2007

This was my first visit to the Maverick Theater and it was a real pleasure. The production was lots of fun and heartfelt by the actors. Good staging, sets, sound, and lighting. Not a bad seat in the house, either.Written on Aug 06 2007

Description
Set in its intended period, director Joe Hufferd holds nothing back in this 90 minute version. Hufferd has transformed the Maverick’s mainstage into a lavish enchanted forest that has overgrown the ruins of an ancient Greek temple. The production is a perfect fix for a summer’s night out for couples and friends
