A boisterous and uplifting portrait of love in a nontraditional family, La Cage aux Folles has been one of Broadway's biggest hits. Georges and Albin, a gay couple who run and star in a popular drag show, find their domestic peace shattered when their son brings his prospective in-laws home to meet the folks. The would-be father-in-law happens to be the head of a conservative party that wants to shut down the drag show. The lively and glittering spectacle that ensues celebrates family values, unconditional love and, above all, the need to be proud of who we are. The show, which was adapted into the popular movie The Birdcage starring Robin Williams, features gorgeous costumes, fabulous dance numbers and a wonderful Jerry Herman score, including "The Best of Times" and "I Am What I Am." Reviews & Ratings
The Rocky Horror Show is an outrageous assemblage of the most stereo-typed science fiction movies, Marvel comics, Frankie Avalon/Annette Funicello outings and rock n' roll of every vintage. Running through the story is the sexual confusion of two middle American kids confronted by the decadent morality of the mad 'doctor' Frank N Furter, a transvestite from the planet Transexual in the galaxy of Transylvania.
Rocky fans of the midnight movie showings will be able to interact with the cast using all the outrageous call-outs you've grown to know. The theatre asks that you do not bring props. Instead they will offer prop bags that are appropriate for a live performance setting.
