not your typical genre, i found Top Girls to make a definate statement on women and our..'strengths'!
very interesting character work, but i found the accents to be inconsistent overall. an enjoyable evening, thanks ladies! ahem, i mean TOP GIRLS!

The actresses worked VERY hard to present this play in a meaningful way...sad to say though, the play itself has much to be desired. I do realize that it is an 80's play from the UK and tends to seem rather pointless at times, but honestly, a one-star rating is being generous only because of the hard work that the ladies put in.
An example is the opening scene where everyone is talking all at once making it extremely difficult to make any sense of the story that is being told. The second half of the play was much better than the first, but all in all, the story was really weak. We hung in there to the end, although at least one couple left at intermission, for the mere fact that we avidly support what the Hunger Artists strive to achieve with every performance. Chins up cast, I'm sure the NEXT play will be a LOT more enjoyable to the audience.

Both I and my date had a hard time syncing up with the play. The actors were great, however maybe I just don't get the Brits!
After researching this play a bit more, other reviews of this play done on Broadway say that this is not an an easy one to direct or act out often due to the pace set for this play.
