Leon Fleisher: Left-Handed Pianist at The Grand
COMP - $15.20*
Leon Fleisher is one of only four classical pianists to receive a Kennedy Center honor, and his life story is as astonishing as his skills. A child prodigy who rose early to the ranks of esteemed performer and recording artist, Fleisher was struck as struck at the age of 36 by an affliction that would immobilize his right hand for four decades. Where most performers would retire, Fleisher pressed on, learning to play with only one hand. In the early 2000s, Fleisher regained the use of his right hand, and resumed his two-handed career where he left off. Even beyond his inspiring tale, Fleisher is a world-class musician who has also gained acclaim as a conductor and teacher of music.
