Spend the evening with the soulful, smooth sounds of jazz saxophonist Wake Campbell. Drawing influence from musicians like Grover Washington Jr., Ronnie Laws, Gerald Albright, Kirk Whalum and David Sanborn, Campbell crafts a seductive sound on original tunes. Enjoy a romantic seafood dinner and a glass of wine, then settle in for an enchanting night of music. Having toured from Europe to California as part of the United States Army Band, Campbell has gone on to play with the premier musicians in the D.C. area. On his latest CD, First Time We Met, Campbell moves effortlessly from soprano to alto to tenor sax for a mix of soulful grooves and intoxicating melodies. Learn More

While the event and the musicians were wonderful, I was quite disturbed when we arrived and my name was not on the roster was told to step to the side unil other event planner arrived. After the second event planner arrived, we were asked if we were gold star, and then told to follow them to the "Gold Star Table" which was the last table in back foyer of the room, pretty much set off from the rest of the group. After we looked so confused, they did try to squeeze some of the other tables together closer, pulling our table up a little more so we didn't look like stepchildren. Although our tickets had been purchased much earlier, we were told they had not received their list from Gold Star until that day of the event which is why we were not on the original list at the front door. Again, the show and the staff at the venue were very nice, but had I known this was the type of seats you get and the operation of gold star, I would not have purchased tickets.
