Members Who Went Said:Musical of Dr. Seuss Horton Hatches the Egg & Horton Hears A Who! My 6 yr old really enjoy it. My 3yr old not quite. Is a bit of a long play for little one with a short attention span :) The seats were great. It was at the Gem Theater at Garden Grove which is re-open after remodeling.
Kip S. Been there, done that. . . Wonderful ensemble! Great sets and costumes. The GEM theatre's audio system needs an upgrade; the single sound source for the music track (above the stage proscenium) did not balance well with the singers on stage. The followspot operators were very distracting; they made the performance feel like it was being produced in a grade school cafeteria instead of a professional theater. The house staff was very cordial, although I cringed when the producer thought it was necessary to strut upon the stage before the show started, hawking future shows.
Evelyn Pohlmann Seats in the first row do not give one the best view of the show. I think I was not comfortable being so close. I could see too much and it was too loud! The show was well-performed, the costumes good, the warmth of the staff of the theater was important also to making us feel welcome. I've been seeing musicals most of my life so I'm pretty picky I guess. |
