Michelle Krusiec (The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Fringe) wrote and stars in this one-woman show based on her suburban upbringing as the daughter of an American military dad and a hilariously foul-mouthed Taiwanese mom. A hit at the New York Fringe Festival, Krusiec impressively inhabits several characters as she relates what it was like to grow up under the eye of a powerful and pragmatic mother, who at one point, draws her daughter into an investigation of her father's supposed affair. The venue was nice. I enjoyed the open theater atmosphere though you could hear a background/traffic noise when it gets loud.
The play itself was a bit disappointing. The acting and the production was a little amateurish.
I hope that there be a better production in this venue because it's nice for OC to have its own mini LA Greek Theater or Hollywood Bowl.
Measure for Measure
is the Bard’s dark political comedy about government hypocrisy, the tightening of rules regarding sexual conduct (even in private), and “law and disorder”. Big Brother is at its best in Measure for Measure — but remember, it’s a comedy, and in the end “all’s well that ends well.”
