This interactive musical concert features McAninch Arts Center Jazz Ensemble performing in a format designed to get kids ages 5-11 involved and interested in jazz and other uniquely American musical styles. The band will perform a variety of music highlighting trumpeter, composer, bandleader and legend John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie, the subject of this year's program. The Kidjazz! concert series is designed to inspire everyone to take a risk, try something new and discover the wide world of music.

It is through these weekly visits that Albom realizes just how much he still has to learn about values and priorities. Albom's 1997 book by the same name has sold more than 14 million copies worldwide to date, was adapted into a successful film in 1999, and premiered as an off-Broadway play, written by Albom himself, in 2001.
