With their marriage crumbling, a husband and wife acting team performing in a repertory company in Buffalo in 1953 try to keep things together long enough to get Frank Capra to cast them in his film remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. But between a pregnant ingénue, and a surprise visit from their daughter, things go horribly and comically wrong. Moon Over Buffalo is written by Ken Ludwig who created the hit backstage farce Lend me a Tenor. Moon Over Buffalo ran for more than 300 performances on Broadway. Directed by Buffalo Theatre Ensemble Artistic Director Connie Canaday Howard, the production features ensemble actors Amelia Barrett, Bryan Burke and Loretta Hauser.

Mitch Albom's Inspiring Drama Tuesdays with Morrie On Stage

Full Price:
$25.00 - $33.00
Our Price:
$12.50 - $16.50

Based on journalist Mitch Albom's real-life friendship with his favorite college professor, Tuesdays With Morrie chronicles the lessons Albom learns during visits while his mentor and friend is dying from Lou Gehrig's Disease, or ALS. The two delve into the themes of life, love, wealth, aging, dependence, peace and death. It is through these weekly visits that Albom realizes just how much he still has to learn about values and priorities. Albom's 1997 book by the same name has sold more than 14 million copies worldwide to date, was adapted into a successful film in 1999, and premiered as an off-Broadway play, written by Albom himself, in 2001. Amelia Barrett directs this Buffalo Theatre Ensemble production. Learn More

This play was so funny and full of action. The characters were interesting to say the least.
The acting was great.
I went with a friend and we both enjoyed it so much.
I would go again to see it and highly recommend it if you like comedy.

The venue was small and the actors really did well in that setting.
I found myself laughing more often as the play went on because I was empathizing with and liking the characters, with all their faults. I will go again to a play here.

Light hearted fun comedy that was performed well. It was certainly worth the time to attend and remember its MAC 25th year of good theater

More Information About Moon Over Buffalo

Description

“As we were looking at shows for this landmark season we wanted to select works that would really celebrate the ensemble this year,” says Buffalo Theatre Ensemble Artistic Director Connie Canaday Howard. “We also felt comedy and farce should be a part of the season. Moon Over Buffalo just seemed be a perfect “fit” this year, not only because it uses a theater company as its backdrop, or because it has the word ‘Buffalo’ in the title, but because of the extreme physical comedy and the strong pulls of the family in this piece.

"We have always viewed BTE as an artistic family, and our subscribers and audience as our extended family," Howard continues. "This show allows us to give our audience a bit of a behind-the-scenes glimpse of our theater world (though the Hay’s family’s mayhem definitely trumps that we’ve ever actually experienced on any of our productions)."
