South Africa's Soweto Gospel Choir mixes the Western gospel music tradition with traditional African music, resulting in a unique sound which has earned them worldwide acclaim and a 2006 Grammy for Best World Music. Excellent show, kept you entertained.
The show was AMAZING! The energy conveyed through the music was contagious and very uplifting. I had goosebumps throughout most of the show! One of the best live shows I've ever been to!!

The Soweto Gospel Choir is a great and talented choir. I have seen many gospel choirs but this one ranks as #1 and the best I've seen. Not only could they sing, but they were multi-talented and awesome in every aspect. They are a very professional group that knows how to engage and captivate an audience. I would love to see this group again and have told many people about the performance. This is a "must see"/"have to see"! We are on a fixed budget and being able to take advantage of the offerings of Goldstar made it a great date for my husband and I! Thank you!
The McAninch Arts Center houses three theaters: the 793-seat Mainstage, where no seat is more than 16 rows, or 75 feet, from the stage; Theatre 2, a 186-seat hall featuring a "soft thrust" stage; and the Studio Theatre, a versatile, black-box performance space. Adjacent to the Mainstage lobby is the Gahlberg Gallery, a 90' x 25' space for visual art exhibition.

Combining western Christian church styles with traditional African forms, the unique African gospel performance uplifts with earthy rhythms, rich harmonies, dancing, drumming and a spirit that expresses South Africa’s great hopes for the future.
