An amateur con artist claims benefits for imaginary residents of his household in a scheme to defraud welfare, to the chagrin of his neighbors. But in this quintessential British farce by Michael Cooney, his not-so-carefully constructed plan is in danger of falling apart when various bureaucrats show up to investigate his boarding house, resulting in a bevy of comic complications, mistaken identities and slamming doors. Glendale Centre Theatre brings back its successful 2006 production of this raucous comedy by popular demand. Learn More

The cast sang traditional Christmas carols between scenes. Their voices were wonderful. The carols were very well done. They moved to different areas of the theater so that everyone had a good view during the show. They also sang in the lobby after the show. That alone was well worth the experience. The special effects were especially fun. Especially, the fog. The people in the first row had fog up to their necks! The minimal sets/props were effective. At the end of the show, it started "snowing" on stage. It was very picturesque. They had a sleigh and backdrop set up with some "Victorian" cloaks/hats so you could have a photo taken in the lobby. There was also a refreshment stand in the lobby, equal to that of a movie theater, except it was acutally reasonably priced. A very fun evening.
There will be Christmas carols and a lovely evening for the whole family.
