The Red Chair Children's Production Company -- which fosters theater and dance talent in students ages 5 to 18 -- presents the holiday classic, The Nutcracker. Its 6th annual staging of The Nutcracker, Red Chair's production features its young performers in principal and supporting roles along with adults. The story of a young girl's magical Christmas Eve adventure populated by Sugar Plum Fairies, Nutcracker Princes, toy soldiers, mice and more, this production is brought to life by a cast of more than 100, aided by lavish sets, glittering costumes and Tchaikovsky's timeless score.

The kids in the ballet were terrific. We had great seats. A very enjoyable performance.

It was well done. I thought more mature dancers might have been picked for the Sugarplum and Calvalier roles though. The two did a good enough job. It seems every Nutcracker has its pluses and minuses.

Overall, it was a good experience. It was our first Nutcracker and the kids liked it, (even my 12 year old son). I liked that it was put on by children (my 4 year old was inspired). Parking was convenient and affordable ($1!). Our seats were really high up, but we still enjoyed the show.

The production was beautifully done. The costumes really stood out for me with all the colors, but most importantly, the children were adorable with their smiling faces dancing around the stage. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would go again next year because it really puts you in the Christmas spirit.

The 6:30pm show is preceded by an optional, additional-cost The Land of the Sweets Party, which runs from 5:00pm to 6:15pm. At this festive gathering, an array of holiday desserts and seasonal beverages will be provided, along with live entertainment. There will also be photo opportunities with Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Nutcracker Prince and Santa Claus.

The Red Chair Children's Production Co. is a non-profit performing arts organization which brings children's performing arts to our community. Our programs focus on giving students 5-18 years of age an extraordinary theater and dance experience.
