Venue was great! Free snacks, nice lobby area....the only negative is the seats...they are folding chairs with worn out cushions...caused numb butt, not just for us, but we saw many seated in front of us shifting in their seats frequently trying to get comfortable. I did see someone brought a seat cushion...so they must have had past experience at this venue.

Oil Lamp Theater is an intimate and lovely theater in downtown Glenview. The play was wonderful, with excellent actors, describing "almost" real life situations with comedic talent. We loved it!

The content of the play was great and some of the lines would have been very funny, except the actors did not know how to act. I almost left at intermission, but decided to stay for the sake of propriety.

The venue is really super nice. They don't serve any drinks, but you can bring your own. The play was well done, really enjoyed it

About the Ticket Supplier: Oil Lamp Theater

Oil Lamp Theater was originally founded in February 2005 as a by-invitation-only theater group. The Theater was dedicated to the preservation of a traditional theater experience in unique and original venues. Keith Gerth staged 20 productions for up to 35 friends and guests each night in his home, a condo in Lakeview. The name of the company comes from Keith’s childhood, where due to the rural nature of his hometown, they lost power often and used oil lamps to light the house. This brought the family closer and created a beautiful soft and intimate glow. In March 2012, Oil Lamp Theater was incorporated as a not-for-profit theater and has established its new location in downtown Glenview. Our new venue provides seating for 60 guests.
