When we arrived we saw the largest rattle snake ever crossing the parking lot and slithered up into the hillside! We notified the event coordinator and while was announcing to be cautious we saw another smaller snake! That was it for us we left! Looked cute but not where snakes have free reign.

It is a very nice play at a beautiful place. Unfortunately, Goldstar did not provide the age recommendation for this play. I would say it is recommended for the children 3 to 7 years old. My son was 9 and he was kind of bored.

I took my daughter and grandkids, 3 & 5 to see the show. It was ok for the 3 year old but the 5 year old thought it was babish and wanted no part of it. My daughter loved. it.

I took a 6 year old and an 18 month old girl dressed in faery-wear and really enjoyed this as much as the kids. The play itself was very simple & in my opinion could have sent the kids on a bit of an actual hunt for the Queen's stolen necklace, but whatever. The kids were mostly about 4-6 years old, lots of girls, but several boys who seemed to love it as much as the girls. The faeries were beautiful, the male characters fun, & they posed for pictures with the kids after the play. O'Melveny park is perfect for this! A lovely start to a Saturday morning.

This was a fun event for 3-7 year olds. Only girls attended, but I think boys will enjoy it too. (one of the actors was a young boy.) The play taught good life lessons. The costumes were beautiful . The jokes were geared to both the adults and the children, so everyone could laugh. As an interactive event, and with kids being very unpredictable, the actors had to improvise along the way. They did a great job. Afterwards, the kids got autographs and had pictures taken with the cast.
Older kids will enjoy it too, but remember, it's easier for younger kids to see faeries.

I thought it was great! It was very apparent that all the children there enjoyed themselves. The "cast" were good looking and played their parts well. I have already referred many of my friends who are planning to take their children and grandchildren.

Goldstar,
It started out a little cheesy, but once it got started the children enjoyed themselves. The weather was a bit balmy. I would suggest this event during the summer. Lots of fun for all!

More Details
Playing for more than three years and named "Best of LA" by Los Angeles Magazine, A Faery Hunt is a unique interactive experience enchanting children and the young at heart. A Faery Hunt incorporates a combination of international faery lore and history with an appreciation of nature and the many creatures that live there. The tale carries simple but often forgotten life-messages including kindness, forgiveness, respect for nature, keeping a positive and healing attitude, and love for one another. The world can be a very scary place, but “Nothing can harm you in Faeryland.”
Who could have taken Queen Ainé’s enchanted necklace? Was it Darrig the smelly troll? Could it have been his funny companion, Periwinkle the Gnome? Perhaps it was the Simurg--a mysterious half-man half-bird who hides himself in the other part of the forest?
With the help of her faery court, the children embark on an exciting quest to help the faeries return the light to its rightful owner. In this way, the children actually become part of the story and take part in the action of the play.
A Girl Scout and Brownie badge, The Magical Fairy Adventure Badge, can also be earned by participating in the hunt, and numerous Girl Scout and Brownie troops are earning their badges by discovering this enjoyable and exciting adventure!
