In the Bay Area premiere of this 2012 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, an Iraq war veteran grapples with personal and family issues, while the motherly moderator of an online support group for recovering addicts and its members struggles to stay sober. Their worlds end up colliding in unexpected ways, as they seek redemption through connection and community. This moving collage of lives in crisis was written by Tony nominee Quiara Alegría Hudes (In the Heights) and receives its much-anticipated regional debut from TheatreWorks Silicon Valley. Learn More

This show had some really good points, and some not so great. First of all, it's a really nice venue. The theater itself is small and very comfortable, and seemed like any seat would probably be good. There was a nice lounge area outside with a small bar and refreshments. As far as the performance, we love "Hair" so it was fun to hear all our favorites. Several singers had outstanding voices, especially the actor who played Claude, and the actor who played the pregnant woman (can't remember her name.) Unfortunately, there was a lot of over-acting, and the direction didn't seem very professional, nor did the choreography. The orchestra could have been better also. On the whole we enjoyed the experience, since it's such a wonderful show, and brought back lots of memories. It did, however, make we want to hear the show recorded by actual professionals!
