More Details
The New Yorker described Maya Beiser as a “cello goddess.” Over the last decade leading composers have stood in line for the chance to work with her, creating pieces that cater to her unique style. As she works to expand the repertoire of the cello she has worked with composers such as Louis Andriessen, Steve Reich, and Simon Shaheen. Beiser appeared as featured soloist in Philip Glass’s Naqoygatsi with the Philip Glass ensemble this past season, visiting the Sydney Opera House and the World Expo in Nagoya, Japan. She is also the founding cellist of the music ensemble, the Bang on a Can All-Stars.
