Come out and help the Chicago Sky hit a new high this season, as they begin their playoff run to the championship against the league's best teams. The game experience itself offers plenty of fun and excitement, with every seat offering stellar views of the fast and furious action on the court. Led by the electric 2013 WNBA Rookie of the Year Elena Delle Donne and Defensive Player of the Year Sylvia Fowles, the Sky earned their first trip to the tournament in franchise history last year, and look to go all the way in 2014 -- with help from their hometown crowd, of course. Ravinia is primarily known as an outdoor venue with a gorgeous sprawling lawn. Guests may bring chairs, tables, blankets and as much food and beverages as they need.
The pavilion stage is not within view of the lawn (well, most areas anyways). However, with your lawn ticket you may stand near the back or along the sides of the pavilion and feel like you are in the pavilion. Never fear, you can still hear! All concerts in the Pavilion and Martin Theatre are broadcast to the lawn via a state-of-the-art sound system.
The show runs approximately one hour.
About the Ticket Supplier: Ravinia FestivalThere's more to Ravinia than merely the world's greatest music. For as many people who walk through Ravinia's gate each summer, there are just as many ways to enjoy what they call "The Ravinia Experience."
For some, it all starts with a picnic picked up along the way, followed by a hop on the train and greeting your friends at your favorite spot on the lawn. Gradually, day turns into evening, and from the comfort of your perfect lawn spot, it culminates in a great concert by candlelight as you gaze at the stars above.
For others, it's a dinner reservation at one of Ravinia's popular on-site restaurants followed by a casual stroll to the Pavilion, where you go to see and hear the stars on the stage.
Bring your own lavish picnic, treat yourself to an ice cream cone at intermission, or just come as you are and leave the details to them.
Since 1904, Ravinia has been Chicago's "sound of summer," a place where you can meet up with your friends, have a wonderful time and hear some of the greatest music in the world. They've got stars on the stage and stars in the sky, and it's all within your reach. Enjoy!
