If you like jazz, especially new inventive sometimes leading edge jazz as opposed to old heard it 1000 times jazz, then you have a few hours to grab a ticket and head to the Ford. Not been to the Ford in a while or ever? It is everything the Bowl is not....small, shaded for the most part, excellent acoustics and not a bad seat. There is decent food and better little dining areas up along 3 levels of stairs. Even someone who has little use for jazz could have a pleasant afternoon or night.

They do this well. A mix of very inventive, more melodic, solo reflective and even a modernistic dixieland brass group were included Sunday. Keep an eye out for Satomo Fujii, she is brilliant and her group very good. For Monday can only hope the level is similar. The schedule has just right 20 minute or so breaks between sets.

You can mess with shuttle parking but there is no reason to bother. The on site parking was only 5 dollars and convenient. It was suppose to be stacked but there were unstacked positions.

The crowd was light which may explain why LA rarely sees this quality of jazz and this style. Go today and give them a reason to come back.

The venue was great! The jazz was too modern/alternative for me- at least on the day that I went. I'm sure if I had gone on another day, the jazz would have been more appealing. Thanks anyway.
