report as inappropriateWhat a great way to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The event appeared well organized and there was a wide selection of wineries. I enjoyed the cheese samples and live music too.
I have only a few complaints. As it was a hot sunny day, I would've preferred more white varietals (it seemed the majority of wineries were offering only Chardonnay). Also, the original $75 price tag is pretty steep if you ask me. I don't think I would've gotten my money's worth if I paid full price.
All in all though, the winefest makes for a very pleasant day. For the right price, I'd come back next year.
report as inappropriateIt was a great experience. More than enough wine. Well organized. Great event :)
report as inappropriateVery good selection of wines. Friendly people. Vendors were all charming
report as inappropriateThis was a fairly expansive wine festival with food trucks, boutique-type retail booths, and other wine culture-related venders. Unfortunately, the narrow back-lot streets of Raleigh Studios made for a VERY claustrophobic and often frustrating experience. Most of the wine booths had 10-20 people waiting to taste, yet only one or two could be served at once. Lines from one booth blended into those from others, not only blocking walkways but creating confusion as to who was waiting for what. There were too many people crowded into such tight spaces, and my girlfriend and I were often so frustrated that we had to move on to other areas. We did not get to taste probably 60% of the wines because of the above. This should have been better organized...or organized, period. When we did get up to the tables, most of the vendors were very friendly, informative, and welcoming. Though we didn't eat at the festival, the food looked quite good. I'm relieved I didn't pay full price for the tickets, as with better logistical planning this event would have been much more enjoyable. We had a good time, but I have to be honest and say we spent too much time playing a game of "find the empty booth". Having been to the same event a couple months back in Santa Clarita, we found the crowd management and vendor accessibility far superior...even with a large number of people in attendance. I suspect it was due to the parking lot layout versus a movie studio.
