More Information About Absurdities of Jean Tardieu

Description

A compilation of five plays written between 1946 and 1955, by French poet Jean Tardieu. Dealing with themes centered around communication, complexity, and existential despair, Conversation Sinfonietta, They Alone Know, Courtesy Doesn’t Pay, Mr. Me: Dialogue With A Brilliant Partner, and The Information Office present an early absurdist view as magnified by the experience of World War II. Preceding both Beckett and Ionecso with his early experiments in Poems for Acting, Lightning Plays, and Pocket Theatre, his later work reflects their influences.
