I am not even going to go into the issues I had with the venue, although they tried to make it up to me by giving me a free CD. The show as nice but short. I didn't know what the expect as I hadn't heard of the artist before, but I had a good time. Good music, funky beats, nice voice.Written on May 04 2011

Description
Adam Shenk originally hails from Virginia, but at age 11 was plucked to attend Princeton NJ's American Boyschoir School. He then went on to continue his education at Michigan's Interlochen Center for the Arts, and eventually attended Boston's Berklee College of Music, where he earned his Bachelor's in Songwriting.
But it was selection for the 2007 semi-finals of MTV’s Making the Band 4, that brought Shenk to New York. It was there he found fertile ground to launch his career as a songwriter, producer and live singer. Not surprisingly, Shenk explains that his second album, Suitcases, focuses on transition and change: “I’ve learned I have to be at home with myself, no matter where I am.”
Produced by Ayhan Sahin with music and lyrics by Shenk, the 14-track Suitcases is packed with instantaneous hooks, indelible choruses and universal themes. Stylistically, the sonic triptych meshes pop and contemporary R&B with old-school soul and shades of jazz. Imagine classic Simply Red infused with the youth and verve of Chris Brown.
Shenk has also headlined New York's Rockwood Music Hall, Cutting Room and The Bitter End.
