I didn't like this year's show as much as last year's, which is why this event lost a star for me.Written on Jul 27 2009
PROS: 1) The free metro parking + shuttle, 2) BYO Picnic and wine, and 3) indie singer/songwriters.
CONS: 1) show structure - I didn't like the "early show," when the singers/songwriters played in the courtyard. There wasn't enough space to stand/sit comfortably without blocking a walkway, and there were bees everywhere. I would have rather come later and avoided it. 2) I didn't like this year's artists as much as the previous year's, but some highlights included Lady Danville and Sara Haze. 3) The singer from the calling was the supposed headliner, but he only sang two songs (in the middle of the show) and also served as a pretty awful MC.

Great show! The Ford Amphitheater has a nice atmosphere and allows you to bring food for a picnic during the show. The artists were awesome, too. One bad thing is that the amphitheater does stacked parking so you're stuck if people don't leave after the show.Written on Jul 27 2009
