It was a cool play in a nice 50 seat black box theater. My sister, Cynthia Manous, was one of the stars of the first half and she did a great job.Written on Oct 26 2008

More Information About Bad Habits
Description

Bad Habits, by Terrance McNally, is a play made up of two one acts. In the first play, Dunelawn, Dunelawn is an expensive rest home / sanitarium type of establishment where people temporarily reside to correct their marital problems. It is owned and operated by Jason Pepper M.D. Dr. Pepper, from his wheel chair perch, has created an unusual and absurd treatment plan: Say anything you want to say….do whatever you feel like doing, smoke all the cigarettes you want, sleep where you will and with whomever you want and above all… drink heavily. This treatment works quite well for the whacky guests. Each martial problem, with the help of the good Dr. Pepper, somehow gets hilariously worked out.

The second play is Ravenswood. Here, across the lake from Dunelawn, the treatment is quite different. The nurses simply inject Dr. Toynbee’s magic serum into the patients. When injected all bad habits and faults disappear instantly. This serum works wonders. No one’s problems really get solved...but a close scrutiny of these patients’ problems reveals the fact that they are enormously funny.
