The show was great for the price. Men in drag singing, girls dancing burlesque to a wide array of live music, a magician and some comedians.
We ate there and the food was very disappointing. To top it off, we were over dressed. The venue has a dress code that is not enforced. I called the place in advance to confirm their dress code and they noted it was enforced...IT WAS NOT!!! Oh well, guess it was an excuse to dress up.
Overall we had a good time. I would recommend it for cheap entertainment.

Bad Show! Doors did not open until after 8 p.m. The establishment made everyone wait outside. The show started extremely late. The food was very pricy and tasted very generic and bland. The performers were very dry. It seemed like they didn't want to be there on a Monday night. The music selections were very poppy and too modern. There wasn't any 1920's repertoire like advertised. The dress code was not upscale at all. Many showed up in t-shirts while I showed up in dinner jacket and tie thinking it would be a formal event as advertised.

I was HIGHLY disappointed. My friend and I waited over 1 hour until 9pm without seeing the show. During our wait, the waitress kept trying to get us to order food and drink, however, we'd already had dinner elsewhere, expecting the show to begin timely. The show was supposed to begin at 8pm, by 9pm we were stuck waiting and decided to leave. Also, when we arrived, my co-worker was told he was 'underdressed', it was 'formal' attire and was provided a jacket. However, after sitting a while, we saw them admit men with Torn Faded Jeans. It was a total waste of time and money. DON'T GO! I SHOULD'VE LISTENED TO 'ED' (see review)!

The Blackbird shines alone as LA's sole line-up of Drag and Burlesque sung live with live band accompaniment featuring classics from the 1920s through the 1990s—everything from Brecht to Johnny Cash to Marlene Dietrich to The White Stripes and Madonna. Each Monday features a new variation of the show, including a rotating lineup of comics and hot new drag and burlesque performances. The Blackbird Cabaret house band includes Mark Doten and Joe Berardi of Double Naught Spy Car with Marcus Watson and Anthony Pelligrino.
The audience is invited to hit the dance floor after the show. Dress to impress!
