Marvel at the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Master Chorale performance of the famed Carmina Burana from one of the Bowl's beautiful terrace boxes for four, which includes a wine and cheese basket. Spanish conductor Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos wields the baton for Carl Orff's thrilling, instantly recognizable cantata, one of the 20th century's most popular and enduring works. This stirring 1936 piece -- based on medieval poems about life, love, drinking, gaming and more -- is best known for its massive and haunting movement "O Fortuna," which has served as background music for dramatic moments in countless movies and commercials. Joining the orchestra and Grant Gershon's Master Chorale are soprano Laura Claycomb, tenor Nicholas Phan and baritone Hugh Russell. The program opens with Mendelssohn's Incidental Music to A Midsummer Night's Dream. Enjoy these sure-to-be-stellar performances from the Bowl's famed boxes or benches.

Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring at the Hollywood Bowl

Full Price:
$30.00
Our Price:
$18.00

The Los Angeles Philharmonic performs one of Stravinsky's most influential works, The Rite of Spring, in its 100th anniversary year. When the piece premiered in 1913 as a ballet, Stravinski's avant-garde score combined with Vaslav Nijinsky's equally avant-garde choreography nearly caused a riot in the audience and sparked a revolution that changed the course of classical music. This masterpiece of orchestral color and energy is led by a master of those elements, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Principal Conductor of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. Also on the program, fiery and expressive young violin virtuoso Augustin Hadelich tackles the temperaments of Tchaikovsky's beloved Violin Concerto. Learn More

The Hollywood Bowl is a true Los Angeles delight, and to hear such marvelous music, and be outside on a balmy summer evening, comfortably seated in a box for four, and kick back and enjoy the wine and cheese and fruit plates from Patina while we set up our own picnic food...well that was all the perfect ingredients for a magical nite. Thank you Goldstar. Box seats were wonderful

Another epic summer night at the bowl! We brought our own picnic to supplement the complimentary wine and cheese basket, which was necessary to feed 3 people, but, boy, did we feast in our box seats! I thoroughly enjoy Orff's Carmina Burana, but others in my party did snooze a bit in the middle. The words are very appropriate for a lusty summer evening, though. We all had a blast!

One of the most thrilling, otherworldly Bowl experiences I have ever had. Carmina Burana was transcendent, eerie music with lush lyrics even when fortune was lost. Everyone on stage sounded great, everyone was so intensely into it, it was mesmerizing. Especially enjoyed old world conductor's style and dynamics. Note: Goldstar "Will Call" tickets are at the Information Booth, not at the Will Call window.
