Great atmosphere, great venue. First band played too long, second and third bands were much better, would have preferred to hear them for longer longer.
Nice event. They had a little issue with time so one act did not appear except for one or two songs at the end. However all in all a grand event!
Ford Theater is an exceptional venue for any type of performance - absolutely perfect for a summer evening concert. The dancers and the bands were terrific, music was upbeat and had everyone dancing in the isles. Truly a fun night enjoyed by all who attended!!! Hat's off to the Celtic Arts Center for such a nice evening. The only thing that was less than perfect was the shuttle service from the Universal City Red Line Station. Other than that I'd rate it a 9!!
The concert was good but parking at the Ford Amphitheatre was extremely tight. You can't drive out of there until the cars parked in the front, back, left and right of you moved. Don't forget to bring a jacket with you because this is an outdoor theatre. It could get quite cold at night. That was something I wish the concert description would mention. We came totally unprepared for the night weather.

Rocking, young Culann's Hounds took the show to a high energy level that was not matched for the rest of the night.
The Ford has horrible parking and restrooms. I rarely go there even though I have worked the theatre before. It is a lovely out door experience that fails as a venue for the handicapped or the beer sodden.
The 1241-seat outdoor Ford Amphitheatre is set against a backdrop of cypresses and chaparral in the Hollywood Hills. It is relatively intimate: no patron is more than 96 feet away from the stage. Music, dance, film, theatre and family events are presented during the summer months. The Ford Amphitheatre Season is a program of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.
Ken O’Malley and the Twilight Lords headline this "back to basics" night also featuring Dublin 4, Culann’s Hounds and surprise guests. It’s a traditional hooley - fiddling, step dancing, bagpipes and ballads.
The Los Angeles Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums, who will open the show, and the McCartan School of Orange County will add to the exciting lineup.
This year, the concert celebrates the traditional music and dance that people think of when they hear "Celtic," says Thom MacNamara, the show's producer. "We want to capture the feeling of a good night at a house 'seisiun' (or session) that are well known in Ireland and Scotland."
The McCartan School will provide high-spirited dances in the beautifully-colored, traditional step dancing dresses and the Los Angeles Emerald Society Pipes and Drums will play some well known favorites in their formal attire complete with the All-Ireland tartan kilts.
