This film is quite cute and charming. The lead actress is perfect for the part and overall it was just fun! If you've read the book, they've made a few changes, but nothing that hurts the story. It's always a pleasure to see a film in the El Capitan, which is kept clean and nice and the ushers are very friendly.

re: Confessions of a Shopaholic

1 star - or is there a 0?. Very unsophisticated chick flick. Patricia Field - what happened? Perhaps b/c the movie was not a Miramax or HBO production, but rather Disney aping these more frothy yet profound styles. The souffle fell flat. I would give it a 0 out of 5.

The movie made me long for Carrie Bradshaw.

The tricked-up disco soundtrack did not enhance this Disney movie where all the sex/profound emotion/rawness was surgically removed and replaced with a PG. Well this is one PG that could stand for Perfectly God-awful.

A fun evening for group of friends. Definately a chick flick... Isla Fisher did a wonderful job. The movie was cute but predictible. The El Capitan is a spectacular theater. No need to arrive early. Park across the street at the Kodak Center and get validated at one of the shops/restaurants. You get a 20% discount at CPK when you show your ticket stub.

Also, see a display of costumes and props from the making of the film!"

In the glamorous world of New York City, Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher) is a fun-loving girl who is really good at shopping--a little too good, perhaps. She dreams of working for her favorite fashion magazine, but can't quite get her foot in the door--until ironically, she snags a job as an advice columnist for a financial magazine published by the same company. As her dreams are finally coming true, she goes to ever more hilarious and extreme efforts to keep her past from ruining her future.
