The third installment of Write Act Rep's Women Inventing Theatre spotlights seven of the best and brightest local female playwrights by mounting their one acts, each with the theme of Connections. The stories range from comic satires on how texting and tweeting affects modern relationships, lost love and romance in and out of a goldfish bowl, to thoughtful examinations of motherhood, break-ups and dashed expectations. But there's some hopeful romance as well. All performances also feature a "Meet and Greet the Artists" reception following the show. Please see the full event description for information on each of the plays.

A delightful introduction to seven new works by female playwrights in an intimate setting. Five of the seven works were extremely appealing (and well-acted). I look forward to Connections IV.

About the Ticket Supplier: Write Act Repertory Theatre

The Write Act Repertory Company produces plays that explore the potential boundaries of theatre. Whether combining the abstract with the realistic or the intellectual with the visceral, Write Act provides both depth of message and quality entertainment. Currently, the Write Act Repertory Company's resident professional playwrights create original scripts developed exclusively for the resident professional actors, directors, designers, and artists-in-residence. Along with our repertory season, Write Act enriches the lives of the multi-cultural community of Los Angeles through our outreach programs with several other non-profit organizations, creating a positive educational and artistic impact within the community.

Write Act Repertory Company's "First Look Series" showcases new works by up-and-coming international writers. These "works in progress" are being nurtured by Write Act Repertory's mission to develop and produce original plays with a collaborative ensemble of professionals dedicated to the craft of developing innovative theatrical productions for the Los Angeles community. The "First Look" process involves the submission of a recommended writer's work, a reading and then a fully-staged production of the "work in progress." Following the staged first production, a Q & A session with the audience, provides the writer with the opportunity to integrate suggestions and feedback into the next draft of the work. The writer, next presents the revised draft of their script for the second step of the process. Once again, the work is performed in front of an audience, and feedback is solicited
