I've realized that Gold Star seating works great for smaller venues but even at Gold Star prices, seating at large venues like the Pantages and Kodac Theatres, seating is very poor...seats were in a poor location...row YY, one row removed from the back of the theatre...staging was great but did not make-up for the poor acting...not musical theatre at all rather a theatrical staging of the movie...had very high expectations...was very disappionted...thought about leaving at intermition but like any train wreck, could not resist seeing the damage...save time and money, go buy the dvd instead.

the show was very well done and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We sat in the mezzanine and they were still very good seats.

Fast paced, great dancing, and some standout acting, especially by the fabulous Britta Lazenga. Cast as Penny she was wonderful, as a dancer and an actor. Oh, by the way, she's a knockout to look at too. Bring your binoculars.

I don't mean to be harsh but it was horrible. The actors knew how to dance but that's about it. The story had some confusing twists and frankly I wanted to leave after the first act! I do not recommend spending any money on this performance..I think this is my first bad review, ever and I see shows all the time.

Description

It's the summer of 1963, and 17-year-old Frances "Baby" Houseman is about to learn some major lessons in life, as well as a thing or two about dancing. On vacation in New York's Catskill Mountains with her older sister and parents, Frances shows little interest in the resort activities, and instead discovers her own entertainment when she stumbles upon the staff quarters when an all-night dance party is in full swing. Mesmerized by the sensual dance moves and the pounding rhythms, Baby can't wait to be a part of the scene, especially when she catches sight of Johnny Castle, the resort's dance instructor. Baby's life is about to change forever as she is thrown in at the deep end as Johnny's leading lady both on-stage and off with breathtaking consequences.
