Set during the rural economic slowdown of the 1970s, playwright Sam Shepard's universally acclaimed Buried Child resonates as strongly today as it did when it launched Shepard's career in 1978. A Pulitzer winner for drama, Buried Child makes for a fierce, forceful and unforgettable portrayal of the realities of the American Dream. The realistic masterpiece mixes comedy and drama, keen commentary and deep emotion in a squalid farm home occupied by a clan filled with suppressed violence, apparent unhappiness and dark secrets. Kenneth Kelleher directs this San Jose Stage Company production. Learn More

The character of Grinch was great as was John Larroquette as Old Max. In general all the actors were cast well and the songs were well done. The only thing I have to say about it was that at less than 90 minutes it seemed too short and had I paid full price I would be very upset. Thanks to Goldstar's great deal I don't feel too badly about it.Written on Dec 25 2009

This was a very fun show. It held the attention of a 3 and 6 year old and they really enjoyed it. While the Grinch is a little scary for the 3 year old, he was funny enough for her to overcome it pretty quickly.Written on Mar 01 2010

This was a wonderful holiday show, especially for the kiddies. The cartoonish sets were true to the original television special, and the costumes were brilliant. Performances were excellent, especially considering that the actors do 3 or 4 performances per day on the weekends. Special mention should be paid to Stefan Karl who played the Grinch to perfection. Only (major) disappoinment was the music - it was not melodious nor something you would ever remember. Of course the exception was the 2 songs taken from the original television special, which are now holiday classics in themselves. Special thanks to Goldstar for excellent front Orchestra seating.Written on Dec 28 2009

Description
Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical features the hit songs "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas” from the original animated special. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is "two sizes too small", decides to steal Christmas away from Holiday loving Whos. Magnificent sets and costumes inspired by Dr. Seuss’ original illustrations help transport audiences to the whimsical world of Whoville, while the Music and Book of Mel Marvin and Timothy Mason breathe new life into this timeless story of the true meaning of the Holiday Season..
