The Lion King, long-time ruler of the Broadway and L.A. box offices, roars back into Hollywood as a limited-engagement treat for the holidays. Tony-winning director Julie Taymor made theatrical history when she transformed the beloved Disney movie into one of the most thrilling spectacles ever to grace the stage, with brilliant puppetry and majestic choreography and costumes. And as impressive as the visuals are, the score is equally thrilling, featuring Elton John and Tim Rice's Oscar-winning song "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?" and "Circle of Life." Indeed, the musical's first appearance on Broadway was more than an impressive debut: Newsweek called it "a landmark event in entertainment." The Pantages became home to the Pridelands for a long and successful run beginning in 2000, and now a new generation has the chance to get swept up in its magic. See it now before it ends on January 12. Learn More
We ate right next door at Tap 33 - a bar with great food and lousy service. If you're not in a hurry try it. It's extremely loud - sports bar - so it's to be expected. The servers are nice, but only 2 of the 6 orders came out first and the appetizers along with them. We had to ask the waiters to check on the other 4 orders. Eventually, about 10 minutes latter the food arrived. But the orders were screwed up. By this time, we just took what was on the plates. They apologized, but didn't offer to reduce the price or offer something for the mistakes. I couldn't even reflect our service on the tip... it was already added in. Other than that - the food was really excellent. If the service was I'd have no hesitation of returning.dining • Oct 28 2013 star this tip starred

A wonderful theatrical experience. I thought it was an all around strong production. The voices and the technical aspects of the show were superb! Strong Lead Performers and ensemble. A true muscial theatre classic in the historical Pantages.
