It was okay, though for future information, please have clsoe caption for those of us that are not spanish speaking, it tended to make it very boring. I was glad to see everyone that spoke spanish enjoyed it. Oh ya, there were some hot women there and not just on stage!Written on Aug 22 2011

Bravo! The evening was electrifying, be it the precaution and rhythm from the first act of Peruvian folklore or the sizzling and mesmerizing tango dances of act 2. The music and the dance will make you cheering . You will leave the theatre feeling good. I was hopping like on drugs and tripped on the stairs on my way out of the door. It is that good!Written on Aug 21 2011

I just returned from Argentina on Aug. 3. Fiesta Argentina made me feel like I was back in Argentina!! It was a FABULOUS tribute to the women of Argentine music! The performers were all excellent! The way they involved the audience was exactly like it happens in Argentina! The dancing was off the hook and the musicians were fantastic!! I loved every second of the program! Thank you for bringing the taste of Argentina to the Ford Amphitheater!!!!Written on Aug 23 2011

Description
The sixth annual Fiesta Argentina features tango and folkloric music and dances from Argentina, celebrating the enormous contribution of women to these genres throughout their evolution in Argentina and the world. Figures such as Mercedes Sosa, Ramona Galarza, Libertad Lamarque, Tita Merello and many others left an unforgettable and everlasting body of work in the two main musical genres from Argentina, tango and folklore. Fiesta Argentina 2011 celebrates their timeless contributions.
The show offers audiences a full sensory immersion in Argentine culture. There is the smoldering passion of Tango - erotic and haunting, involving both body and soul - that started in the smoky saloons of Buenos Aires. The folkloric music and dances depict the relationship between man and nature in the vast Argentina Pampas, with the elaborate “zapateo” or footwork of the gauchos and the powerful rhythms of the bombo – a drum made from a hollowed tree trunk.
Fiesta Argentina 2011 will feature folklore singer Suni Paz, who “lit up the hall with her enormous charm and vitality..." (The New York Times), tango singer Stella Milano, who has been called “outstanding” by the Los Angeles Times, and tango singer Carlos Bosio, Tiempo Tango Ensemble under the musical direction of Dino Durand, as well as the acclaimed Otero Dance Company, directed by Gloria and Claudio Otero. The show also features legendary Argentine rock band Arco Iris co-founder and woodwind player Ara Tokatlian, guitarist Carlos Velasco and master Latin American harpist Julio Montero. A large screen will transport the audience through illustrations and historical photos, some dating back to 1892. The printed program will also provide brief biographical notes of the artists and the women being celebrated with this show.
