Description
"We act like fools when we're in love and we try to fool the one who loves us because they keep us unbalanced and ironically, we, in the end usually try to fool ourselves." Says Costanzo as he looks forward to staging what is generally acknowledged as Shepard's best play.
Set in a lonely motel, Fool for Love is the story of May and Eddie's manic and ill-fated love. Despite taboos and knowing better, they can't end their romantic connection. Their breaking apart and cleaving together has become a ritual and despite a new man in May's life, she's just as stuck on Eddie as he is on her. It seems to run in the family.
