This imaginative adaptation asks the question you've always wanted an answer to: "What if Shakespeare had written Pulp Fiction?" Set in Elizabethan England, Pulp Shakespeare weaves the story of a pair of murderous hit men, their boss's alluring wife and a desperate knight, all brought to life by a cast of acclaimed Los Angeles Shakespearean actors. Clever and hysterical, this production is the work of Her Majesty's Secret Players and allows audiences to experience the Bard on a whole new level. Learn More

I thought the show was great! I've loved the design of all the puppets and the vocals were great for everyone. Cristal had that great kinda sexy sultry voice and was perfect for her character. My only deal was that I wished I would have watched the movie again before I went as it's been so long I couldn't remember some references to the film. Nomi's puppet was hilarious when she showed anger-very Satan-like! I highly recommend this show. It is very funny and well done:)Written on Dec 17 2007

I never did watch the movie in its entirety but was able to follow the skit with no problem. The hand puppets were all done up nicely...ahem, and the puppeteers did a great job bringing each one alive. My friend and I had a wonderful time and, for that, we thank you.Written on Oct 15 2007

- "Don't miss this underground hit from Chicago, which has enough raunchy puppeteering to make the creators of "Avenue Q" avert their eyes." -New York Times

Description
Following in the footsteps of Avenue Q, Harvey Finklestein Productions' Chicago cult hit is a risque production featuring puppets. But that's where the similarities end -- as its name suggests, Harvey Finkelstein's Sock Puppet Showgirls retells the campy movie Showgirls in a decidedly low-tech manner. A huge success both in Chicago and New York, the show makes its West Coast premiere at Theatre Asylum.
