Bramwell Tovey conducts the Los Angeles Philharmonic in a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Percussionist Colin Currie performs Rouse's astounding and theatrical percussion concerto Der Gerettete Alberich. Holst's The Planets concludes the concert, enhanced by stunning imagery from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a division of Caltech in Pasadena.

I enjoyed the Hollywood Bowl experience. Of course, the sound was not as good as being at Walt Disney Hall, but you can eat at your seats! The LA Phil was delightful!

Wonderful evening only spoilt by not being able to look up at the planets because of clouds
Beautiful venue and you can bring your own food and drinks...what more could you want? And the show itself was great! By the way, if you can take public transit, I would recommend it...parking can be sticky I hear.

Orchestra was outstanding, seat location towards center - another plus, but the performance was partially diminished by outside bowl music - very distracting at multiple moments. Still we would go again.
Lots of empty seats so we moved to a roomier area. Great night under the stars. All three pieces were fun and not to serious for the outdoor setting.
The Hollywood Bowl was great as always, but the shuttle bus service from the Zoo--which is usually prompt, courteous and simple--was absolutely dreadful. They ran out of buses at the end of the concert to get everyone back to the zoo parking lot and they didn't seem to really care. It was an extremely bad experience which will make we re-think how I got to the Hollywood Bowl in the future.
