As a fan of Bowie's I loved this show. I have a buddy who is even more of a Bowie devotee, and specifically of the Hunky Dory album, so I decided to take him. The cast had an incredible ensemble feel and even though many of them were probably not even born the year Hunky Dory was made they brought true passion and joie de vie to the production. Every one in the cast was strong and there were a few stand outs, both male and female, that were incredibly talented... and not bad to look at either ;)

The KingKing club is not a huge venue but the high ceilings help create a worthy theater space. The sound was excellent, and the clear invisible mics the performers used couldn't even be seen put projected their sound wonderfully. The band was off to their own stage on the side and all the players were excellent, and you could tell were loving playing Bowie's music. The production intentionally had a cabaret feel, which perfectly fit the music and the album being performed. The highest compliment I could pay cast and crew is that I think David Bowie would have loved it. If you like Bowie and the album Hunky Dory go see this show.

Imagine listening to the album whilst watching a mash-up of Cabaret and Godspell. Awesome. Just awesome...
