First time at Catalina Bar & Grill, elegant and spacious yet intimate. Performance was thrilling,
Lannie Garrett is a consummate pro, great pipes, great comedic timing, brilliant as Patsy Decline.
FourPlay was also on the bill, fine group with standouts. Service was good, food was tasty, all in all a bit pricey for me, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

FOR JOAN RIVERS 7/23/10 8PM PERFORMANCE.
JOAN WAS FOUR STARS. I AM A BIT PERTURBED WITH THE VENUE WHICH I WILL DISCUSS/ ADD LATER... SO I PUT A THREE.

SEEING JOAN PERFORM LIVE IN SUCH AN INTIMATE SETTING IN HOLLYWOOD WAS A THRILL. THEY WERE FILMING IT, FOR WHAT I'M NOT SURE??? ANYWAY... JOAN WAS IN FINE FORM, WAS EVERYTHING YOU'D THINK AND EXPECT HER TO BE!! PROVOCATIVE, CRUDE, RUDE, VULGAR, FOULMOUTHED... WAY BEYOND POLITICALLY INCORRECT ANOTHER WORDS.... F---ING FABULOUS!!

P.S. I WAS GOING TO KEEP TRACK OF HOW MANY TIMES SHE USED THE F WORD AND LOST COUNT IN THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES OF THE SHOW......... THAT'S JOAN. SOMEONE ACTUALLY BROUGHT A VERY SMALL GIRL 6-7 YEARS OLD. SORRY BUT YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING???? THAT WAS MORE SHOCKING THAN JOAN'S SHOW.

I thought that the ambiance was just alright. The music wasn't that great. Especially compared to Jazz Clubs in New York such as the one in the Time Warner Building. Over all I wouldn't recommend this.

Despite knee surgery, Rita Moreno remains a fantastic performer. Show more 'caberet-style'....meaning she did ehat SHE wanted to sing. No problem with that--or the stories she shared with the audience between songs. Nice venue--a bit difficult to find. About 250 seats.
