A very enthusiastic audience made this a fun evening! Part improv, part script, all fun! It can go in any direction each time it's performed. Other people in the audience told me it was completely different last time they saw it, so they're not kidding!! Everyone working there was extremely nice. Very welcoming and friendly!

Description

"The Great Big, Super Important, All Star, Jackpot, Jump Rope Competition Show" is an interactive modern day fable where the audience decides the outcome. What exactly is that you ask? It's an energetic, joyful, all scripted show that allows the audience to participate in the outcome not once, but twice.

After Act I, the five characters in the show plead their case to be the star of the second act. The audience votes and one of five scenes plays out. Next, the characters plead for their lives when the audience is called upon to kill one of them off in act III. It's a show that has big laughs and a big heart and it will never be the same show twice.

"Jump Rope" is an original play that was born from TheaterCRAM2004 -- an intense, inventive contest, where 13 teams have two days in which to write, direct, rehearse and perform an original theatrical ten minute piece inspired from a common theme. "Jump Rope" was a hit. So the unstoppable creative team decided to expand this piece into a full-blown show unlike anything out there, so audiences can partake and experience.

Writing duo Todd Rohrbacher and Alex Alexander are no strangers to the Los Angeles writing scene. Todd has written for several television shows including: DreamWorks's TOONSYLVANIA and Sony's MEGABABIES as well as Comedy Central's THE MAN SHOW. Alex is the recipient of a Dramalogue Award, which she earned during her seven-year tenure at ACME. Ms. Alexander's writing appears in a compilation textbook of theatrical pieces, created for high school drama departments and distributed around the country.

Mr. Rohrbacher is a triple threat to this production as a writer, performer and director. He is the founder and Artistic Director of the hit improv group Captain Creamsicle's Laughteers. He is an alumnus of the ACME Comedy Theatre where he performed with the main company and taught for five years. Todd has directed numerous stage productions and was the Dialogue Coach on NBC's GOOD MORNING MIAMI. Most recently he directed the critically acclaimed hit comedy FLYING COACH.

This talented cast consists of: Chris Ackers (Memron -- Audience Choice award-winner at 2004 Slamdance Film Festival), Alex S. Alexander (THE DREW CAREY SHOW, ER and LITTLE BLACK BOOK), Jenna Allen (MEAN CREEK), Grace Nassar (RAISING HELEN & PRINCESS DIARIES 2) and Todd Rohrbacher (Showtime's cult series SHERMAN OAKS).
