Priscilla Queen of the Desert is coming to the Pantages. This fun-filled musical based on the cult favorite film follows three friends as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime. Drag queen Mitzi has a lead on a job (and a chance to meet his son) so he grabs his fellow drag queen Felicia and his old friend Bernadette -- a recently widowed transgender woman -- and the unlikely trio hop aboard a battered old bus for a trip through the Australian outback. They end up on a life-changing, music-filled adventure to find love, friendship and acceptance. Winner of the 2011 Tony Award for Best Costume Design, this hilarious and heartwarming show features more than 500 dazzling costumes as well as a virtual hit parade of dance favorites, including "It's Raining Men," "I Love the Nightlife" and "I Will Survive." Written on Jan 28 2013Excellent show and I wish I could see it again!
Written on Aug 05 2012I don't know what to say except I loved it! My friend and I went to work quoting lines and all. I loved the house boy character and George Hamilton was a delight! My favorite part of the night was when I was walking up to the Pantages and the drag queen hollar'd "Love the shoes", it made my night!

Written on Jul 25 2012This was a great production of a classic gem. Every cast member sung, acted, and danced superbly. Except, George Harrison seemed to be having major problems with his voice. I pray to God that it was just a temporary problem. I have seen coulpe of versions of movies (including an Italian one and one played by Robin Williams) and several productions of musical and play versions of the story line. They were all great and this production of La Cage was fabulous. However, be forewarned that the parking lot across the street next to the Pantages Theater has been shut down due to construction. But there are other parking lots near by that might take you a little tonger to get to.
