The baking gloves are coming off as ten of the best cupcake bakeries square off and allow you to pick the winner. Each vendor will display their best mini-cupcakes for you to taste and judge--and finally put to rest who has the best cupcakes in L.A. The event will also feature a dozen wines and savories to cleanse the palate.

My favorite flavors (Raspberry Red Velvet & White Chocolate Macadamia Nut) came from the same bakery - TwoPartsSugar.com. I never would've known about this Mission Viejo gem had it not been for the L.A. Cupcake Challenge.

For the cupcake lovers, this event was amazing! I couldn't believe it was an all you can eat event with so many cupcakes to choose from. There were four in our group, and we had a great time voting on the winners. One word of caution, start slow with small bites and drink lots of water!Written on Apr 05 2009

Few things are more alluring than a ballroom FULL of cupcakes! Many of them were deliciously flavored, exquisitely decorated and masterfully presented.Written on Mar 31 2009
There were just a couple of problems. The first was, unavoidably, that it gets near impossible to judge the quality of a cupcake when you've already sampled more than seems comfortable. The second was that there weren't enough tables and chairs to go around, and it really is important to have enough seating for everyone at a "gorge yourself" event like the Cupcake Challenge.
Still, the event was truly incredible, and I'm sure I'll be buying another ticket next year!
