Composer, singer, guitarist, writer and political activist Caetano Veloso is one of the most influential artists in South America. He'll perform outdoors at the Hollywood Bowl with indie pop musician Andrew Bird and folk troubadour Devendra Banhart. Veloso's Abraçaço fuses Tropicália and the indie pop of contemporary Rio with the help of Banda Cê, a trio of young musicians. At 71, his latest album incorporates the style he helped invent along with swirling melodies, industrial noises and electro-acoustic rock 'n' roll. Andrew Bird & the Hands of Glory band performs layered and looped pop music and Banhart writes trippy folk songs, citing Veloso as a major influence. DJ Frosty will open the concert. Learn More
