What a way to riv up the opening with ELLAS SON. Mariachi that could play Latin Jazz-they fit right in. The evening was magical and exciting: to see so many greats playing together--Chalo Eduardo, Hubert Laws, Louis Beltran and Pete Escovedo. We had to get up and dance and did so many others. So glad to have been there for the 1st Annual--the 1st of many more for my friends and myself. Thanks to the sponsors and Jose Rizo: keep LATIN JAZZ in our lives!

Took a close friend as part of their bday gift. The shuttle was really convenient, the will-call easy, as well, but the gold star went to the little "nooks" with tables for an intimate picnic that were so cozy and part of all the lush greenery! Mike Marino was terrific & personable. Ellas Son's pieces were fantastic and really left us wanting more than just two. Rbt Kyle was alright & seemed to drag on a bit. Chalo & the Brazilian Beat - great. What can you say about Louie Beltran, along with Hubert Laws & Pete Escobedo? Wonderful!!! BUT - Please don't invite Chris Bennett back. Sorry, but although she can carry a tune, her stage presence seemed contrived and even funny with her forced sensuality. Besides, how about someone who can at least pronounce their Spanish?
