Arabia Exotica 2008: UnBroken begins with 30 belly dance-go go girls against a backdrop of live, eye-popping 3-D animation created on the spot by Oscar-winning J.Walt--a breakthrough technology that creates amazing new psychedelic worlds.
The show continues with two full acts of the world's finest in belly dance, burlesque, samba, contortion and hip-hop fusion dance. See Aziza, international dance star from Montreal; and Mia of San Juan, Puerto Rico--this year's winner of "Belly Dancer of the Universe." Unmata, a gothic-tribal belly dance troupe from Northern California will present their famed "Pony Play" piece; Farhana, Princess of Hollywood, and Sir Ryan Heffington will perform a belly dance fusion duet to "Snake Charmer"; award-winning Mandala DanceWorks performs "Blood, Oil, Gold"; and Jenevieve, the Serpentine Sorceress, dances with her live, giant snakes!
There's also Kristina Canizares of the Nekyia, San Francisco, and Serchmaa, world-renowned Mongolian contortion artist, who twist and turn through a belly dance/burlesque routine that must be seen to be believed. Unity's LED-lit hula-hoop strip tease gives new meaning to the word outrageous, and Leela with SaloméJihad performs a belly dance/Vegas-circa-1960 take on a classic fairy tale, "Alice in LeelaLand."
After the show, the audience is invited to join the artists for a World Beat Dance Party. Music will include Middle Eastern, Bollywood, trance, house, rock, blues, disco, techno and more.
