The funeral of Sister Rose Marie, an alcoholic religious disciplinarian, brings together twelve outrageously diverse flawed Harlem characters in this acclaimed play by Stephen Adly Guirgis. Sister Rose Marie may have been a mean drunk of an Irish nun schoolteacher, but she caused her former students to examine the many lessons they've learned from her as they struggle against the tide of their lives, sometimes succeeding, sometimes failing, in doing the right thing. And there's one other complication: somebody has stolen the body. Learn More

Description
An undisputed comic legend, Lenny Bruce was one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. His Life and work have had an impact on poetry, politics, music, film and, oh yeah...comedy. Lenny's tempestuous personal and professional life was marked by great passion and great pain. His unwavering commitment to free speech led to numerous obscenity charges and arrests. He was a martyr for how both adventurous and mainstream comedy are heard today, and his "forbidden humor" paved the way for such comic greats as Richard Pryor, George Carlin and Robin Williams. Bruce has not yet been surpassed at his particular brand of art, and if he were around today, he would be in as much trouble as when he was alive.
