Fun, fun, fun.... If you enjoyed The Marvelous Wonderettes you'll love this one. The songs are not only well done by some really good singers, but they each go along with the scenes perfectly. Loved all the actors, each was special in their own way. (Also loved the Mother, even though you never see her!) This was the 1st preview, so there were a few small glitches with the lighting, a few screechy notes, and the air conditioning had to be adjusted at intermission, but I would definitely go back again during the run, and would highly recommend this show. I know it will be a huge success!!!

The middle-aged woman sitting next to me bounced for the entire show. She never missed a beat and she never stopped smiling. As I looked around me I also saw other heads bobbing, hands clapping and overt displays of pure delight with this material. This is a magical trip down memory lane. It never takes itself too seriously (and it shouldn’t. The plot is paper thin). It does somehow manage to celebrate music that in its core was fun-tastic. This is the perfect Gold Star adventure. It quality entertainment at ½ price and that made it even more delightful. Be prepared for a slightly long first act. The run of the show has been extended. Check it out. Doo-Wop… Doo-Wop.

I am a big proponent of local theatre and productions like "Life Could Be a Dream" is exactly why. The story is endearing and the characters are funny, over-extended exaggerations of a great period. The music is upbeat, fun, fresh, and filled the audience with enthusiasm.
Watch out for Michael Willett and his portrayal of Eugene -- it steals the show!!! Towards the end you root more for him than... well, let me not give it away... but they "had history" and that should be respected... :)
Get there early to get good, free parking - and have a cup of coffee and a Vegan cookie before the show!

From the “marvelous” mind of creator Roger Bean, comes another trip to Springfield where we meet the “Crooning Crabcakes,” the boy group banned from the Springfield High School prom which made it possible for “The Marvelous Wonderettes” to perform there.
Now in an era before “American Idol,” and “Star Search,” the guys get one more chance at fame and fortune as Denny and his friend Eugene form a singing group so they can enter and win the local radio contest on Big Whopper Radio and realize their dreams of making it to the big time!
With the help of their best friend Wally and their new friend Skip, this is the best quartet of singers since, well, you-know-who!
Trouble comes in the form of Lois, who arrives to help put some polish on the group but who also broke Eugene's heart many years before.
As Eugene falls apart, Skip, Wally and Denny fall in love - and hilarity and heartaches ensue.
Will Lois and one of the boys find true love? Will these delightfully goofy guys be able to pull it together and win the contest?
