While I appreciate that Japanese culture is less overtly affectionate than in the West, I still found the relationship between the protagonists unconvincing. Many storylines were started, then abandoned, just as they had the potential to get interesting, leaving the plot thin and the characters flat.

This movie gives a great slice-of-life view of the characters in the film. It is sweet and funny, and speaks true by tackling real child-parent and relationship issues. The actors are appealing, the film not preachy, and the soundtrack rocks. It bogs down about 2/3 through, but finishes back on track.

It was really cute. The beggining was fast, funny and really great. The middle was slow and the end was good. I feel that some things just didn't transfer to English. Which is understandable and to be expected. The characters and the acting were excellent. The lead girl was fantastic! All in all I'd recommend it for all to see.

The story line was interesting. I got a glimpse into how homosexuality is precieved in other cultures and was frankly amazed at the openess and intellengece of how this aspect of life is accepted in countries other than the U.S. I am totally straight married and quite happy and not offended by this lifestyle if ones chose to live it. Bravo...
Cheers.

Not a mind-blowing, potential oscar nominee. I liked it but it was definitely very "sweet".

The movie was amazing. The love the characters had for one another was what I have going on in my life with my girlfriend. It was totally worth it to go!
