In late 1943, Mala Zimmetbaum met Edek Galinski, a striking 22-year old Polish soldier and fellow prisoner at Auschwitz. Despite the utterly dehumanizing conditions of the camp, Mala and Edek fell in love. With the help of their loyal and colorful friends, they escape. Mala's defiant, heroic gesture of preserving her humanity in the face of execution continues to inspire hope in the hearts of many.

There were some good moments and the minor characters were well played. However the play has some structural problems and the leads were weak.
I was so moved by this remarkable story and incredible performance by each of the actors, sometimes playing multiple characters. The director took a unique approach to a challenging genre and executed it with care and respect. The pace is a mile-a-minute and the ingenious staging strikes the audience as though they are a part of the action. The lighting, set design and multimedia effects keep the audience on the edge of their seats. I would highly recommend seeing this play, as it is unlike anything I've seen before!
