More Details About Mariachi Divas
More Information
The collaboration with this incredible band began when the Mariachi Divas opened the 5th Annual Lady Jazz Concert at the Ford Amphitheatre in 2004. The questions as to why a mariachi band would be invited as the opening act for a jazz concert were answered from the opening song. By the second song, a number of seats were emptied as audience members moved into the aisles to join one of the conga lines that weaved up and down the aisles.
Mariachi Divas founder, Cindy Shea-Ceballo, has taken a traditional Mexican cultural art form and expanded it through the addition of elements from musical rhythms around the world. When this beautiful and talented band takes the stage at the Ford this summer, the audience will be treated to a style of music created by this band that is known as "ranchengue", a blend of ranchera played in merengue style.
From weekly performances at Disneyland's California Adventure, to weekly club gigs and television appearances, this band is guaranteed to deliver an evening of festive entertainment in their first full-length concert at this beautiful hillside amphitheatre.
