From chart-topping radio hits ("You're Sixteen") to award-winning Disney movie songs ("Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious") and beloved theme park classics ("It's a Small World"), Richard M. Sherman is one of the most prolific and acclaimed family-friendly song composers of all time. The Sherman Brothers songwriting duo, comprised of Richard M. Sherman and his late brother, Richard B. Sherman, was a veritable two-man Disney hit factory, crafting memorable melodies for numerous films including Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Winnie the Pooh, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and many more. Over the course of their nearly half-century songwriting career, the brothers were honored with two Academy Awards (for the music of Mary Poppins), three Grammy Awards and 24 gold and platinum albums. This conversation at Goodman Theatre, moderated by Chicago Tribune critic Chris Jones, takes a look back at Sherman's astonishing career and achievements. Along with the illuminating discussion, you'll also be treated to a light breakfast buffet reception plus an exclusive sampling of some of Sherman's unforgettable songs. Learn More

view more less of this reviewI enjoyed Dirty Heads the most and Pacific Dub were ok. The first few songs Matisyahu performed left me cold as there wasn't a hint of reggae(hey, I'd settle for Klezmer!); however, I left around 10:25 and from comments I understand he got better as he sang some signature songs.
My first visit to the Palladium in more than 15 years and glad to see it's pretty much intact; also, the open-air deck on the west side of the building is a refreshing touch.
star this review starred report as inappropriateThe Dirty Heads we great - they killed it. I'm not feeling Matisyahu's new stuff. I came to the concert to hear the music that put his name on the map. He's starting to get into electronic and house sounding stuff and it's pretty bad. My husband agreed and he actually loves house. BUT - the few old songs he did - they are awesome!
