Fun event. Everyone did a great job entertaining. Dick Van Dyke, Florence Henderson, and Wayne Brady were very enjoyable. Michael Feinstein put on a great performance. My only complaint was the show was extremely short for a Saturday night show. It began at 8:30pm with a 20 minute intermission. The show concluded without any ovations at 10:30pm! What a bummer!

Michael Feinstein kept the energy flowing during this duet filled evening.
Each guest star had a moment alone in the spotlight and then joined Michael for a little patter and a song in the style of the old TV variety show. Vintage tv clips featuring each star preceded their appearance onstage. Dick Van Dyke and Cheyenne Jackson tied for audience enthusiasm and appreciation. Florence Henderson and Wayne Brady were excellent as well. It was a fun evening for all in attendance.

Michael is a great pianist, singer but is such a trove of information about these songs. He shared little of that and instead tried to create energy around the guest artists mostly unsuccessfully. The LAPhil of course sounded wonderful although not sonically mixed very well. My party enjoyed the evening more than I personally.

Totally disappointing evening. Songs were not "American Songbook" choices. Volume was painfully loud even 2/3 back from the stage. His try at humor, telling a singer that he was "too gentile" and should "Jew down" a song was deplorable. Asking the audience to give the conductor and/or the Philharmonic a hand at least 5 times through the concert was ridiculous.
